Hello! I am Cristina, a photographer
specializing in photographing love, marriage, and babies. The whole bit. A little thing we call life.
I LOVE what I do. LOVE what I do.
I tear up at every wedding I shoot (just a teeny bit) because I am madly, deeply in love with weddings and what they represent.
I have two beautiful girls who are the center of my universe and totally rock my world. Yes, I photograph them often.
I have a husband who not only supports me and my crazy endevors, but completely encourages me to have them in the first place. For his support, I am beyond thankful.
I grew up watching black and white movies.
For six years I lived near the beaches of California and it changed my life.
I am blessed. by. God. Immensly.
And I am completely honored that you've stopped by to have a small look at life through my lens. I do hope enjoy it and stop by often.
Just a little sunshine for your Tuesday morning!!! And also an FYI…. I’m going to be O U T OF T H E O F F I C E from A U G U S T 6th - 14th. I’ll have limited access to my email/phone but definitely no access to my computer/files.
As far as blogging goes…. I’m NOT done blogging this week. There’s more to come! Stay tuned:) Until then…these make me smile. Even the oh-so-serious ones. She’s just so cute!
Alex - I was amazed at how bright and beautiful the colors are on these photos. Cristina I don't know how you do it! But it also helps that yes she is beautiful....but what can I say, she is my daughter!
Susie - Precious 1st year photos, but then again, I've always thought she was a beauty, just like her name. :)
Dear Blog,
Sorry I’ve neglected you. I have no idea why blogging is such hard work, but it is.I don’t blame you. It’s me. And there are so many new and exciting things I want you to showcase, too. Let’s promise to make time for each other these next few weeks.
Lots of love and until next time,
ME
Without further ado, here are some images to go with the video I posted below.
Rocio and Robby, it was so much fun. Thanks for being awesome!
Rocio - These came out great!! I could not have asked for a better photographer to capture these incredible moments!
Cassandra - Incredible!
Yolanda Parra - Absolutely incredible!!!!. You made me live again these precious moments of Robby and Rocio´s wedding. Now with these gorgeous photos, and the perfect video I will keep these memories forever.
Thank you very much!!!!
So I enter a very, very dark room. No natural light in it whatsoever. Yet, there’s a great wall and a beautiful baby boy and I know I have to shoot him in the crib. I could have used my flash to completely light the room, but when I saw his hair and his cute “papi chulo” onesie, I was inspired. I knew I had to light these with a little edge. And he totally loved the spotlight. Doesn’t every celebritot?
Okay, it’s been a long while since I’ve posted on my poor, neglected blog. I’ve had a lot going on lately. Lots of images to process. Not to mention summer life as a work-at-home Mom can be a bit crazy. (Am I alone in that?) There’s always this huge balance between doing what you love and not letting that love burn out. It’s not always easy. But if you love what you do. If you’re almost psychotically addicted to what you do (like I am), you can’t help but always come back for more. You must always find a way somehow. Usually for me, it means making a change, doing something differently or purely for the love. Which explains why I’ve changed things so many times already in my short stint as a photographer. I can’t help myself. It’s how I’m built. In fact, a week ago my daughter was watching Meet the Robinsons (which, by the way, brings me to tears every time) and that quote at the end explained it all.
“Around here, however,
we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward,
opening up new doors and doing new things…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
- Walt Disney
So this New Day girl has been carving a new path. Just changing because I’m completely curious what will happen if I do this or tweak that. And now…I’m sitting on something new that I’m pretty excited about.
I have the opportunity to offer video service to my clients. Working exclusively with people who are working exclusively with me. And that is pretty darn cool. Details are coming soon and video samples are on their way, but I’m excited about what it can lead to. I hope you are, too.
So without further ado, a sample video…
Oh, and because I can’t leave you without an image. Here is a shot of the two people who helped me shoot Rocio and Robby’s wedding and who are responsible for the video.
YGuerrero - It's amazing Cris, All the best for you!!
adrianna - I loved the video!!!
Korina - Your video made me cry its amazing.
I think I want to get married now...
Kat - Hmm I think I recognize the black shoes in this picture and the teal balloon ribbons lead me to believe this is a sneak peek of my sis's pics. Am I getting closer?
School is out for summer and I’m ready for those awesome and adorable summer kiddos (see below) that make their way in front of my lens. My calendar now shows what is left of June availability and I’m posting what will be available in July (July is officially a crazy month for me), but we will make it work.
ALSO… I’ve been having issues with my land line. Feel free to get in touch with me on my cell phone ( 915.307.1366 :) Hope to hear from you soon!
