Who Am I?

Hello!  I am Cristina, a photographer
specializing in photographing love, marriage, and babies.  The whole bit.  A little thing we call life.

I LOVE  what I do.                       LOVE what I do.

I tear up at every wedding I shoot (just a teeny bit) because I am madly, deeply in love with weddings and what they represent.

I have two beautiful girls who are the center of my universe and totally rock my world. Yes, I photograph them often.

I have a husband who not only supports me and my crazy endevors, but completely encourages me to have them in the first place.  For his support, I am beyond thankful.

I grew up watching black and white movies.

For six years I lived near the beaches of California and it changed my life.

I am blessed. by. God.         Immensly.

And I am completely honored that you've stopped by to have a small look at life through my lens.  I do hope enjoy it and stop by often.

*UPDATE*

Now I don’t always do this, but this is the best response I think I’ve ever had to a blog posting. From the Bride-to-be: “Oh my goodness I just saw them! wow wow wow! I love them! You did so well! More than I could have imagined on such a terrible day! Thank you so so much! I’m just gushing! The pictures look like firecracker happiness! Marvelous!” It was in pink, bold letters, too. Firecracker happiness?!    That’s so cool.

*ORIGINAL POST*

It was sooo cold (and windy) during this session. I really thought there would be a cancellation. So when there wasn’t, all I could was pray they’d still be good sports about it. I felt a bit of added pressure because the groom-to-be is a pastor at my church so I really didn’t want to mess this one up. After all, I see him every Sunday.

We’ll, they were beyond good sports. The cold meant the coats stayed on for most of the shoot, and well, I actually really love that look. The wind meant Denise’s gorgeous hair would be an occasional problem. But it also meant that the images would have great movement to them. In the end, I had a great, great time. I hope they are as happy with them as I am. It was worth the parking ticket I got to get them:)

We were virtually out of light, but we had to stop for just a few more shots and I love pushing my camera to see what it can do in low light. I’m glad I did because I love the grainy, moodiness of this shot. It’s what I love.

::full of life::

I had the joy and privilege of photographing this beautiful girl again.  I can’t believe that even though she is currently undergoing chemotherapy (and will continue to do so for the next year and a half) she was so smiley and so full of energy.  Going through the images, I couldn’t find too many without smiles.  And not just smiles, but infections, cheeky, FULL OF LIFE smiles. It was the best way to spend my afternoon.

Blessings baby girl!  May your courageous, sweet spirit continue to shine.  Love and Kisses!  And thanks for the juice box.

Cristina

::hacked::

If anyone visited the blog yesterday, you were greeted by a black or blank page with and a hackers message.  Yes, my new blog was hacked into, but thankfully, now restored.  Some images need to be replaced, but other than that, no major damage done.  A new post coming soon!

::winter sale::

I also want to share this video. I can’t remember whose blog I saw it on, but upon seeing it, I was amazed and touched. Great artistry. The story is endearing and well, I couldn’t help but notice the importance of pictures (both moving and still) in it. When they’re holding a photograph of their son…well, yes, I got a little teary eyed imagining the future.

::because i love weddings::

I’m posting today because, well, I love weddings. I really do. And I’m proving it by offering a HUGE sale on my wedding collections this month. In the month of January, any wedding collection is 25% off!!! (I know!) That’s HUGE. Really HUGE. Of course, a contract must be signed and the standard retainer must be made, but that’s a HUGE sale. Did I say HUGE? It expires in January. So if you anyone who might interested, spread the word.

More images from the last wedding of 2008 and to top it off, some kind words from the Bride and Groom before even looking at a single image taken that day.  I have such beautiful clients.

“Hi Cristina!!
We just wanted to say hello and hope all is well! I don’t think we ever told you but we just wanted to say Thank you sooo much to you and your wonderful assistant, your hubby, for being so patient, so sweet and our saviors that day. We are so grateful for not only being there with us in our great moment, but a special gratitude for following us and being there to save us from being stranded on our own Wedding Day. We hope your baby, or babies I should say are doing great. We can’t wait to see the extraordinary pictures you will put out for us, hope to hear from you soon. And once again thank you for all your hard work.
George & Pauline”
