Who Am I?

Hello!  I am Cristina, a photographer
specializing in photographing love, marriage, and babies.  The whole bit.  A little thing we call life.

I LOVE  what I do.                       LOVE what I do.

I tear up at every wedding I shoot (just a teeny bit) because I am madly, deeply in love with weddings and what they represent.

I have two beautiful girls who are the center of my universe and totally rock my world. Yes, I photograph them often.

I have a husband who not only supports me and my crazy endevors, but completely encourages me to have them in the first place.  For his support, I am beyond thankful.

I grew up watching black and white movies.

For six years I lived near the beaches of California and it changed my life.

I am blessed. by. God.         Immensly.

And I am completely honored that you've stopped by to have a small look at life through my lens.  I do hope enjoy it and stop by often.

in austin. in love.

Right on time. A 2 a.m. blog post. But it feels a bit incomplete without any words.

No, I don’t always get the chance to write.

But it always is my intention.

It is also always my intention not to blog anything that I’m going to read later with any regret. Late night delusion will do that to you. Which is why so often, there are not enough words on my blog posts.

Today though, I have to write a little because I have to give credit to these two. I had the opportunity to photograph them in Austin this month but I had no idea when I agreed to do it that it would be as hot and humid as it was. I don’t do humid and wow… the humidity that day was unbelievable. My couple came prepared, however, with small towels to literally wipe sweat beads between takes. I seriously looked like I had just stepped out of the shower and later joked that if they looked to wet in the images, we would just have to pretend that the shoot took place pool-side. But seriously, despite all that, these two didn’t quit, complain, show concern or disappointment. In fact, we really had a lot of fun. I even had the opportunity to have some vegetarian pizza and just hang out with some amazing people afterward. It left me wondering how I had even ended up there.
Having pizza.
Shooting a great couple.
In Austin.

Carmen and Richard are engaged

I’m back from vacation and I’m very busy catching up on things that tend to pile up quickly when you leave. I have the fortunate problem of having a lot to work on but being so excited to work on it all. It’s just a matter of hours in the day. Couldn’t we all use just a few more? And where did the summer go anyway? I’ve already started booking for the Christmas portrait season and October looks like it will fill up before September starts. So if you want to get on the calendar, I recommend you shoot me as email as soon as possible.

Now…onto the images. These two basically left the entire session up to me and were just so open and fun. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding.

Party at His Crib

So I enter a very, very dark room. No natural light in it whatsoever. Yet, there’s a great wall and a beautiful baby boy and I know I have to shoot him in the crib. I could have used my flash to completely light the room, but when I saw his hair and his cute “papi chulo” onesie, I was inspired. I knew I had to light these with a little edge. And he totally loved the spotlight. Doesn’t every celebritot?
