I had this engagement session on the calendar for months. Months.  This couple (born and raised here) no longer live here and so, this shoot was planned for quite some time.  Then it happened.  Wind.

El. Paso. Wind.

For a normal shoot, there would have been no choice but to reschedule.  Instead it became a Tim Gunn “make-it-work” moment. And to be honest, while most couples would have let the wind, and the hair, and the sand in the teeth get to them, these two definitely didn’t.  They smiled through the whole shoot.

Moral of the story (for those of you reading:):

It never is about what is happening all around you,

but what is happening within you.

She does my hair.
He makes her laugh.
They’re getting married in two weeks.
Lucky.Me.

All caught up and it’s finally time to blog all the lovely images I’ve been proofing. Yipee!
I’m shooting Dwight and Naomi’s wedding in November. They were a little nervous and uneasy about being photographed, but I think they did quite well:)

With my vacation at the end of February to the unexpected, last minute trip to WPPI in Vegas this week, I’ve fallen a little bit behind but I’m making strides and catching up on everything. The good news is that the trip to Vegas last week was successful. I came back with new album companies that I can’t wait to start working with, photo jewelry that I can’t wait to start selling, and more. I heard some amazing photographers speak about things from work flow to lighting to keeping it real. So the trip, itself, was totally worth a little extra hours at night to get it all done. I may have missed some calls or emails during the whirlwind of events (and my lack of internet service) so forgive me as I go through it all and make sure it’s all straight as I start the spring season.
